Bringing co-operative values to life

 

Baywind Energy Co-operative Ltd

A grant of £40,000 was awarded to support the generation of green electricity turbines. Baywind currently owns six turbines in Cumbria. In addition, they promote energy conservation through a local Trust fund.

This type of project was funded under funding stream three the promotion of co-operation.

Young Co-operatives

A grant of £25,000 was awarded to provide young people with a practical introduction to the Co-operative Movement. Young Co‑operatives hopes to identify and enthuse the co-operative members, workers and activists of the future. This type of project was funded under funding stream one: start‑up.

Local Food Links Ltd

The grant was for £49,875 to develop a new school meals service based on co-operative principles in Bridport, Dorset. The project presents a real opportunity to develop a children-centred school and parent-led model of school food provision that prioritises healthy eating. This type of project was funded under funding stream one: start-up.
