Here at The Co-operative, we’re Good with Food. We’re Britain’s largest farmer and we have stores all over the country, so we have a responsibility to the people who eat our food. We don’t just want to provide good quality food, we also want to help you make informed choices about what you eat so that you stay healthy and help us to help the environment.
Today’s consumers are presented with a choice of foods and products on a scale unimaginable a century ago. Whilst the majority welcome this improvement in choice, many are concerned about food production methods and their impact on health, the environment and wider society.
From Farm to Fork is a learning experience that gives primary school children a better understanding of where their food comes from, enabling them to make more informed choices and giving them a passion for good food.
If your pupils are planning to visit a farm, the website provides useful pre- and post-visit activities to prepare them and reinforce their learning. It is also a useful tool for anyone who wants to know more about the food we eat, so its content is relevant to users who are not involved in the Co-operative outdoor learning programme.
