From Farm to Fork

Our food education project

As a co-operative farmer, we believe in the importance of raising awareness about how food is produced, and educating people about  links between food, farming and the countryside.

From Farm to Fork is an outdoor learning experience that gives primary school children a better understanding of where their food comes from, enabling them to make informed choices and giving them a passion for good food.

Launched in September 2005, on our Stoughton Estate near Leicester, over 3,000 children have since visited the farm to see how crops are grown and gain an appreciation of the importance of farming, both in supplying food and protecting wildlife in its natural habitat. Children also learn about the importance of eating a varied and balanced diet in order to make good choices about what they eat.

From Farm to Fork has been such a great success that it is being extending to other farms across our estate to coincide with our support for the Year of Food and Farming.
