Crops grown: Wheat, oil seed rape, beans, peas and potatoes.

Interesting facts:

• The land that makes up the Essex farms has a long history with the co-op.  It was originally bought in 1919 by the London Co-operative Society to provide products for their retail shops throughout London. 

• It was then briefly owned by Co-operative Retail Services (CRS) after the London Society’s demise, and was then bought by the Co-operative Pension fund in 1984.  The land was sold in 2004, but The Co-operative Farms have continued to farm it for the new landowner
